A healthcare acquisition venture firm

Raskas Ventures Acquires Eldersburg Eldercare Adult Day Care Centers

Second Venture Aims to Bring Level of Care
That Led to Success of Baltimore-based Advanced Medical Concepts Inc.

ELDERSBURG, MD – February 14, 2007 – Raskas Ventures, Inc., a healthcare acquisition venture firm, announced today the acquisition of Eldersburg Eldercare, a leading provider of adult daycare services. This venture is the second made by Raskas Ventures, following the 1993 startup of Advanced Medical Concepts (AMC), a leading provider of durable medical equipment to the Mid-Atlantic region.

“We will bring to Eldersburg Eldercare the same hands-on personal touch that made AMC such a success,” said Meir Raskas, CEO of Raskas Ventures. “We will continue to provide a nurturing, positive supportive environment within a community based setting in a senior center model.”

Eldersburg Eldercare is designed to serve older adults and their families by providing a medically supervised personalized program of therapeutic, social and rehabilitative services in a supportive setting. The quality of life of elderly adults is dependent upon full access to meaningful recreational and social opportunities that permit elderly people to function at their highest level despite physical or psychological conditions that may limit opportunities in the larger community. Therefore, Eldersburg Eldercare provides a range of activities, on an individual basis, to enhance the capacity of the participant.

“At the end of the day, adult medical day care is about improving people’s lives while providing a less costly option for family caregivers and state funded insurance programs. Adult medical day care has saved state funded programs millions of dollars and has provided families an alternative to placing their loved ones in a long term care/ nursing home facility,” added Mr. Raskas. Eldersburg Eldercare has two locations, in Eldersburg and Damascus, Maryland.
